Pusan National University welcomed a delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad, IITH) on August 25 to discuss opportunities for collaboration in education, research, and international exchange.

The visit aimed to deepen mutual understanding between the two institutions and explore opportunities for practical academic and research collaboration. Established in 2008, IIT Hyderabad is one of India’s leading science and technology institutes, with active education and research in advanced technology fields including advanced materials, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, robotics, next-generation communications, and energy.

The IITH delegation included Director B. S. Murty and Mayur Vaidya, Associate Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering. During the meeting, representatives from both institutions discussed a broad range of opportunities, including education and research collaboration, potential joint research, student and faculty exchanges, and cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

In particular, the two universities explored how their respective strengths in advanced materials, AI, semiconductors, robotics, next-generation communications, and energy could be connected to strengthen research competitiveness and develop substantive academic and research partnerships. Through continued dialogue, PNU and IIT Hyderabad will seek opportunities to gradually expand cooperation through joint research, academic exchange, and student and faculty mobility.
