The Department of English Language and Literature supports the development of excellent students who can contribute to their local communities and to the nation, and provides high-quality instruction on English language and literature, grounded in an understanding of British and American cultures. 12 faculty members with Doctorate degrees acquired at major domestic and foreign universities are lecturers in the department, where they are dedicated to the education of next-generation leaders. The department also offers opportunities for international academic exchanges and diverse research programs. The admission quota of the department is 50, and courses are broadly categorized into English language and English literature. English literature courses offered by the department include British and American Novels, British and American Drama, and British and American Poetry, as well as the History of British and American Literature. The English language courses include the History of English Language, Syntax, Phonetics, Semantics, and Pragmatics.
