Once upon a time in Mt. Geumjeong, there was a little eagle named Sangenie. With a brave heart, bright eyes, a clever mind, and dreams bigger than the sky, Sangenie always aimed for a higher and wider world. As Sangenie flew across the skies above the PNU campus, every experience became a lesson and every challenge became an opportunity to grow. Along the way, Sangenie gained the courage to leap into the unknown, the compassion to embrace others, and the passion to pursue a brighter future. These are the qualities that define Sangenie: courage in the face of challenges, kindness toward those nearby, and an unwavering belief in the dreams that lie ahead. Each morning, the PNU campus comes alive as Sangenie takes flight once again—soaring toward the dream we once shared as a fellow eagle of PNU.

Rocky, also known as Moonchangdae, comes from Godang Peak on Mt. Geumjeong. Having been part of our community longer than any other member, Rocky has become something of a quiet campus legend. Rocky loves literature, speaks little, and somehow always knows when someone needs a little extra support. When finals feel overwhelming or the biggest presentation of the semester is just around the corner, Rocky is the one holding everyone steady. Perhaps because of this, people say that students who make a wish beside Moonchangdae find the courage to spread their wings and fly toward their dreams. And there is one more secret to Rocky’s story. Long ago, Rocky discovered a tiny star that had fallen from Moonchang Star, the Star of Education. It has stayed by his side ever since, quietly shining wherever he goes.

Every night, stories from across PNU find their way to Daeny. As the secret guardian of PNU’s Daenamusup (Bamboo Grove), Daeny listens to the thoughts students may not always be ready to say out loud. Late-night worries becomes a little story. A cherished crush is captured on film. A brave confession becomes a message that carries courage to someone on the other side of campus. That makes Daeny PNU’s very own storyteller—and perhaps its most dedicated social media creator, always tuned in to the latest stories from around campus. Free-spirited, creative, and fiercely fair-minded, Daeny is always ready to carry someone’s story across the sky, waiting by the Rainbow Gate whenever a little courage is needed.

"Take this acorn—let a little luck follow you today."
Deep in the green slopes of Mt. Geumjeong lives a book-smart little squirrel named Tory. Tory may be full of wisdom, but there is one thing even the smartest squirrel cannot resist: snacks. A certified sweet tooth, Tory always has something tucked away for the next lecture. And if you ever need to know where to eat around campus, Tory is the one to ask—always ready with recommendations for hidden cafés, favorite restaurants, and little snack stops worth discovering. You might spot Tory anywhere and finding Tory in PNU’s forest has become a little adventure of its own—a reminder that joy often appears where you least expect it. Campus legend has it that if Tory gives you a treat—an acorn(dotori in Korean)—good luck will follow you for the rest of the day. True or not, Tory always keeps a few close by, just in case someone needs one.

"A clean slate, a fresh start, and Buddy by your side."
Living near Mirinaegol (Galaxy valley), Buddy is PNU’s cheerful guardian of all things clean, green, and refreshing. Since Buddy never lets a stray piece of litter go unnoticed, Buddy might seem like that perfectly organized friend—but beneath that tidy exterior is the warmest of hearts. Wherever Buddy goes, clean water, fresh air, and little bubbles seem to follow. Through flowing water, Buddy carries messages of courage and renewal—reminding students that there is always another morning, another semester, and another chance to begin again. When the festival lights go out or a long day of studying finally comes to an end, Buddy can often be found quietly taking care of the corners left behind.
